This is a case study on the design and development of a DC power supply unit for FA computers. There was a request to develop a low-cost, high-reliability, and long-life power supply. 1. Selecting components that allow for long life, 2. Reviewing the circuit to reduce ripple current, thereby extending the life of aluminum electrolytic capacitors, 3. Improving the accuracy of overcurrent detection to suppress component heat generation, and other measures were implemented, making long life possible.
